Fun Facts and Hobbies

I played Ultimate Frisbee in college and love the sport. I also love long-distance running, preferably on a trail through the woods.

My hobbies include African Dance and Kathak (traditional Indian dance). I heard a quote once:

“To understand a culture, you need to just watch them dance.”

That’s my paraphrasing… I do think dance is storytelling. It’s musical. It’s movement. It has more than words. And, since I’m such a literary person, I gravitate toward sport-movement-dance as a juxtaposition… I think it’s liberating.

I LOVE photography and cinema… the beginnings of immersive art for me. I really enjoy spending time in a darkroom printing photographs by hand. In college, at Duke, I worked at the Center for Documentary Studies.

I especially love taking pictures when I travel, and I have two photography sites online, one for a “Humans of Zurich” project, and one for my Flickr stream. Now, most of my artsy photography is channeled into my Instagram feed. My current camera I love is a FujiFilm xPro
